Mount Vinson 2017

Another year and another season in Antarctica!  The 2017/18 season was my 7th summer season spent working in Antarctica but this year I took a job with commercial operator Antarctic Logistics and Expeditions (ALE).

During my season guiding for ALE I spent a rotation on Mount Vinson, which is the highest peak in the Antarctic continent at 4892m.  Owing to it's extreme remoteness and the complex logistics involved in getting to this mountain the number of people to have summited is relatively low - ~1500, compared with the likes of Everest which has been summited by over 5000 people.  It was a real privilege to have the opportunity to climb this peak.
