Montane ICEMAN Arctic Ski Race

In April this year I am going to be leading a team in the Montane ICEMAN Arctic Ski Race for Tangent Expeditions.

The event will take place on the 13th - 20th of April.  There will be four days of actual racing over a distance of 100km in teams of 3 to 4, with the other days before the event being used to provide arctic training to the participants.

Please note that you do not need to be a super keen and mega fit athlete to take part! The event is envisaged to be as much about taking part and enjoyment of ski travel through such a pristine environment as it is for the more experienced athletes wishing to push themselves. The race itself is 4 days duration whilst the first two days in Greenland will be spent receiving free training in a range of invaluable arctic expedition skills from our own team of highly experienced Mountain Guides, Snowmobile Guides and Mountaineering Instructors. It will be a lot of fun with a great group of like minded friends!
— Paul Walker - race organiser and director of Tangent Expeditions.

The race is being run on a not for profit basis so the entry fee is £2450 which is incredibly cheap for a week's ski mountaineering deep inside the Arctic Circle!  Additional costs are flights from UK to Iceland and then Iceland to Greenland (approx. another £900).
